Fall 2009

hello.

update.

This fall has been eventful. Sort of. My Mom and brother came down in October. They were here for my Grandpa Rex's funeral. He died on the 20th. It was sad to see him go. His obituary is below if you want to read it.

Another thing that happened this fall is that I got a promotion! Yay! I found out my boss was moving to Portland. I had debated for a while whether or not I wanted to apply for his position. A few days after they held interviews the boss boss came to me and said he had heard I was interested. I said yes and we had a talk. About a week later it was official that I was to be the new Office Manager at our office. I am really excited and grateful for this opportunity. I will get to have my own office and a pass to the parking garage (yay cause now I don't have to de-ice my windshield and brush snow off my car after work) among other perks.

So far school has been really hard to focus on with all of this going on, especially my new job. Originally I had planned on taking 2 classes a semester until I was able to go full time to school. Well now that I have a more demanding job I don't know if I will be able to take as many classes, if any at all. I will have to see what I can handle.

Thanksgiving is on its way (YAY) and family is coming into town for that. New Moon is next week (YAY). Work is doing a private screening for their clients and I get to go as I am person who coordinates such events. AND its even closer to Christmas so DOUBLE YAY for that. I can't wait to go home and be with my family/at home for Christmas!!!

it has the light side of the force

which trumps the dark side of the force in the end

10:22am L Jacob

well i can blackmail anakin skywalker the most powerful jedi into killing you with a chokehold

10:23am Becca

Hello eyes that have lasers?

its like having two light sabers stab some one whenever you look at them

10:23am L Jacob

mirrors reflect lasers

10:24am Becca

anikan would never have a mirror because he would never look at his deformed face and body

and my shark would destroy your mirror with the force

10:25am L Jacob

well i'll use the death star and destroy the planet your shark lives on

10:25am Becca

my shark lives in space...its a cyborg space shark

it doesnt have a planet

and it also has a cloak of invisibilty

10:26am L Jacob

10:30am L Jacob

i would see the emp out on a smaller craft then use it so it wouldnt disable the ds

10:30am Becca

then i would have your little ship as a snack

10:31am L Jacob

10:32am Becca

well my cyborg space shark is A sexual and it just reproduced a little million cyborg space sharks. What now?

10:34am L Jacob

i'll just create a supernova in the nearest star system the a block hole to clean up the mess

the supernova would destroy everything and if it missed something the blacjhole would suck it up anyways

10:35am Becca

Labor Day Fun

This weekend was such a blast. We went to Wenatchee this weekend!! Yay! We only spent 2 days there, but it was totally worth the 12 hour drive both to and from Wenatchee. We left Friday afternoon around 1:00 pm and arrived in Wenatchee about 12:30 am. My parents moved about a month ago to a new house. They moved less then a mile away from their old house. So before we went to my parents house Mark drove by the old house and it was very sad. I had grown up there for 15 years of my life! So many memories had been made in that house it was sad to know that I wouldn't be visiting my family in my childhood home. I'm such a dork, my eyes are tearing up even thinking about the old house. So needless to say that it was a little weird driving right past it and down the canyon to my parents old house. But the shock of the new house started to wear off as the weekend progressed.

We were supposed to go on a picnic Saturday but it rained all day so we had a picnic at my parents dining room table. We played some games and just hung around. Saturday morning I went to the Farmer's Market and to a few other stores with my Mom. Mark went paint balling with Casey my little brother and some of the guys in ward. They got soaked up in the mountains but had a good time. Sunday we went to church and then had my grandparents over for dinner. That was fun we played a games and then hit the hay. Mark and I left around 11:00 am and didn't make it home until 12:30am. Overall it was a good trip and it was fun to see my family. It will be good to see my parents and little brother over Thanksgiving as they will be in Utah at that time. I am super stoked to go home for Christmas this year, it will be my first Christmas home since Mark and I have been married. I can't wait to go to Leavenworth and help my mom cook and just be with my family. Last Christmas was my first away from home and it was really hard on me, although Mark's family made me feel welcome and I had a good time with them.

I have just a few more thoughts on the city of Wenatchee:

1. It's really not as big as everyone who lives there seems to think it is.
2. It's really not a big deal to drive the whole 10 minutes to East Wenatchee. Get over it.
3. Wenatchee traffic jams = regular traffic in Orem/Provo (I still think there are too many people in Orem/Provo and that life is much more pleasant during the summer when all the students are gone out of state)
4. People of Wenatchee: It is NOT ok to go out in public in spandex anything. It is also not ok to wear pajamas outside of your residential property. Just don't do it.
5. The speed limit restrictions are ridiculously slow. Or maybe I have just developed a lead foot from being in Utah for the last 2 years. I don't know but something has to change.
6. I forgot how many outdoorsy type things there are to do in and around Wenatchee. It makes for some really good weekend trips.
7. I forget how big the Columbia river is and that the Provo river is really really tiny. I miss the water.
8. I love going home. It makes me smile and I am now resolved to go home more often while a short trip is still easy for us to do without crying, pooping, hungry babies.

Washington D.C. Trip

So we recently took a trip to Washington D.C. We were there for 4th of July and all of the following week. I can't believe that the trip has already come and gone, especially since we spent a year planning and waiting for it! It was so much fun to see my family and to tour our nation's capital! I know that should have posted sooner.... but I didn't. Enjoy!

The Last 523 Days

So here is a recap of the last 523 days. You may ask, why 523 days? Answer: That is how many days we have been married. Not much has happened since January 4th 2008. We pretty much do the same things over and over. School, work, eat, sleep. But we have had some fun things happen for us.

This first picture is our wedding day.

This is our little apartment. I sort of like it.

Mark's truck we bought March 2008. I know, it's pretty sweet, huh?

This is a fake miniature sheep. Mark didn't want me to post a picture of the sheep because he thinks the sheep is ugly. I like the sheep.

So then nothing really happened until we went on vacation up to Washington for Thanksgiving.

Yay for food and family.

My Family. Jake, Val, Shane, Tiffany, Casey, Mom, Dad, Mark and Becca!

Mark's Family. Harriet, Mark, Becca, Jamee, Londyn, Taylor, Shea, Jamilah

The beautiful flowers mark had delivered to me at work for our 1st anniversary. I have the sweetest husband ever!
The husband. He cuts his own hair :)

Mark gave me this car for my birthday this year. I love it!

Some pretty flowers that are by our front door.

This is the newest addition to the McEntire household. This is our cactus garden. We made it on Memorial Day this year. It is cute.

That was pretty much all that happened in the last 523 days. Thanks for stopping by!

The Beginning

Before there was Mark and Becca McEntire, there was Mark McEntire and Becca Stone.
This is us both at 5 months. According to these pics, I think we will have some freakin' cute babies when that time comes.
